Just for a minute...

Pretend you are the child size paintbrush 6 year old Taylor uses at the Child & Family Guidance Center to paint her pain, confusion, and hurt of the abuse she has suffered in her young, innocent life. Taylor picks up the brush and focuses intently on the blank canvas while her therapist gently, patiently coaxes her to paint what "she feels." Taylor carefully chooses a soft yellow color and begins to paint a small fragile figure at the bottom left of the blank page. Next, she dips her brush in clean water and chooses the color black. Taylor's breathing becomes heavy and tears well up in her blue eyes as she paints wide black arches on top of the tiny, pale figure. She completes her art therapy by adding a bright yellow sun just above the dark, monstrous arches. As Taylor paints the last sun beam, she takes a deep breath, slowly lays the brush down, closes her eyes, and softly says, "I feel better now."

It will only take a minute...

    •  Help clinical staff keep the playrooms in great shape by replacing worn/old paint, toys, sanitize toys.

    • Purchase $25 Walmart or Target Gift Cards at Christmas time for our neediest children.

  2. Consider a leadership role of board governance. Please contact Brenda Hayward, executive director at bhayward@cfgcenter.org for more information.

  3.  Contribute to our Wish List.  Please scroll to bottom of page.
  4.  Provide a Monetary DONATION. A one time or recurring gift is greatly appreciated and needed to provide ongoing funding for the center. You can give online with our secure credit card processing system.

  6. Join us this year to support our  Annual Changing Lives Harley Drawing & Party. We will be raffling off a Brand New Harley Davidson Motorcycle, seeking sponsorships for the event, and promoting the event with parties at  Loose Wheels, T Bones Bar & Grill and  Texas Road House. To learn more about the Harley Fundraiser click here. Tickets and sponsorships can be purchased online.

  7. Shop through Smart Raise to raise money for our center. Please log onto http://www.smartraise.com/ to learn more. Shop at hundreds of stores online and CFGC will receive a percentage of the sale.
SmartRaise is a 100% free fundraising program that allows school groups, community organizations, and other causes to fundraise online, eliminating the frustrations of traditional fundraising programs. This novel fundraiser idea was created by public school teachers who were searching for a fast, easy, free fundraising alternative.

SmartRaise is a shopping rewards program where everybody wins! Groups raise money whenever their supporters make purchases through our network of leading online merchants. Supporters pay the exact same prices they always would (or even less thanks to our many discount programs) and automatically help their favorite causes fundraise whenever they shop online.

We hope one of the above mentioned ways to help will be a match for you. If you would like to volunteer, please contact Jessica Hamilton, Office Manager at 903-893-7768, ext. 202
